Home · Journal · A company holiday party in North Palm Beach

Every December, most company holiday parties land in the same place: a hotel ballroom, a buffet line, a microphone nobody wants, and a room that empties by nine. People show up because they are supposed to. Very few talk about it in January.

There is a better version of that night, and it is a few minutes from Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter. At The Office, a private golf club in North Palm Beach, your company can take the whole room: five private TrackMan bays, the members bar and lounge, and the conference room, for one company and nobody else.

What the night actually looks like

The format does the work. It is a shape that has landed again and again, and you can adjust it to your team.

The first part is the business. A toast, a year in review, the awards, in the private conference room. The reason everyone came, kept short.

Then the bays. A bracket or a scramble across a great course on a live leaderboard, with everyone in it whether they golf or not. Nobody needs to be good at golf for it to be the best part of the night.

The bar, throughout. Your spirits, poured. Something to eat. The conversations that never happen across a conference table.

And then they stay. The room is built to hold people past the agenda. Nobody is watching the clock, because nobody has to.

Why it works better than a ballroom

A holiday party is supposed to say thank you. Most of them say the budget was spent. A night at a private club, with something for everyone to do together, says the people in the room were worth a little thought.

It also takes the pressure off the people who dread these nights. Nobody has to mingle with a plate in their hand. The leaderboard does the introductions, the bar does the rest, and the quiet ones end up with the best stories.

The details planners ask about

The whole room is private for your company for up to 70 guests. A private event is $3,600, or $2,500 if your company holds a corporate membership. Events run on Mondays and Saturdays, one company at a time. Catering and beverage are arranged to your event, and the club is at Suite 10, 1201 US-1, North Palm Beach.

There are only so many Mondays and Saturdays in December. If your party is still a hotel quote and a question mark, now is the time to tell us the night you have in mind.

Your team has been to the ballroom. Give them the night they talk about in January.
